About the event

Kelvin and Emma and their children reside on a 100 acre property 11 kilometres from Orange. They have resided on the property for 6 years after building their home there. And yes they actual have a few resident emus on the property.

Kelvin and Emma are both passionate about environmental care and come from families where their parents share those interests.

Kelvin and Emma and their family have collected local seed and raised natives for planting. They have also purchased local native plant stock from the Central Tablelands Landcare. They have 550 seedlings ready to plant. They heard about Rotary Adopt a Tree program and wanted to become involved and recently contacted Bathurst Rotary to see if they could assist with the planting.

The site is fenced and prepared for the planting.

Given the late notice for this years planting, it was agreed that we will look to 3 days as our volunteer numbers are likely to be small given the short notice on the planting dates.

For anyone wanting to camp you are welcome to bring a tent or campervan. The property is 11 klms from Orange with plenty of accommodation options on offer. Check with the Orange Vistors Centre phone 1800069466.

Planters are requested to come self catering for their meals and drinks. Toilet is available at the owners house.

Directions: From Orange take the Icley Road heading East until Reyfield road on your right. Turn and following the road uphill for about 800 meters until driveway on your left with letter box with 159 numbered on it.

Contact number for the planting: Robert McAlary 0434722989.
